The Beautiful Cathedral in Passau

This is the St. Stephan's Cathedral, called as "Dom St. Stephan" in German located in Passau, a city in Bavaria, Germany. This is so far one of the most beautiful cathedral I visited in this country. It has a baroque architecture the seat of the Catholic Bishop of Passau.

It has the largest church organ outside of United States. It is also the largest cathedral organ in the world.

The image below was taken during my third visit to this city last summer 2010. This is such and amazing work of art! St. Stephan's Cathedral is truly stunning!

The cathedral's overall plan was made by Carlo Lurago, its interior decoration by Giovanni Battista Carlone, and its frescos by Carpoforo Tencalla.

The Cherry Blossom in our Garden and the Quote

Ambition is not always wrong.
But when it consumes us
So that we can't wait for God,
We display luck of faith.

When we submit our desires and goals to the Lord,
We can be sure that He will give us
What is best. -Dave Brannon.

Lord, grant us now the grace to wait,
To trust alone in You,
Lest we set goals outside Your will
That we with zeal pursue. -Anon.

The cherry blossom in our garden. Sad to say that due to the past cold and freezing nights sometimes, most of its small fruits got frozen and turned brown. I am just hoping that we will get some sweet red cherry fruits this year.

Watching the Sky in Westminster Abbey, London, England

What a such dark sky in London as we visited Westminster Abbey. This Gothic church is also known as The Collegiate Church of St Peter at Westminster.

Here is an image I took during my visit last 2008.
HISTORY

According to a tradition first reported by Sulcard in about 1080, the Abbey was first founded in the time of Mellitus (d. 624), Bishop of London, on the present site, then known as Thorn Ey (Thorn Island); based on a late "tradition" that a fisherman called "Aldrich" on the River Thames saw a vision of Saint Peter near the site. This seems to be quoted to justify the gifts of salmon from Thames fishermen that the Abbey received in later years. The proven origins are that in the 960s or early 970s, Saint Dunstan, assisted by King Edgar, installed a community of Benedictine monks here. A stone abbey was built around 1045–1050 by King Edward the Confessor as part of his palace there and was consecrated on 28 December 1065, only a week before the Confessor's death and subsequent funeral and burial. It was the site of the last coronation prior to the Norman conquest of England, that of his successor Harold II. From 1245 it was rebuilt by Henry III who had selected the site for his burial. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westminster_Abbey

Malabuyoc Coastline in Cebu, Phils. and the Lovely Quote

"I know not, but God knows;
Oh, blessed rest from fear!
All my unfolding days
To Him are plain and clear."
- Flint

Below is the beautiful coastline in Malabuyoc, a municipality in the province of South Cebu, Philippines. This area is also called the Freedom Park. You can see the market building from afar and those with the blue and orange roofs are some sort market stands or kiosks selling different products. This was taken during my vacation this year to the Philippines.
